The majority of skin cancer cases can be directly linked to sun exposure. According to statistics, 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. Each year, over 1 million new skin cancer cases are diagnosed.
Overexposure to the sun can cause red, sunburned skin as well as wrinkles, freckles, age spots, dilated blood vessels and texture changes of the skin. Sun protection helps prevent this damage and reduces the risk of developing skin cancer.
SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. You should use an SPF 15 everyday and use an SPF 30 if you are out in the sun for more than one hour, especially on your face.
